Cadwell April 28th 2003

Click for larger viewLater this year a number of RG500 riders (some from outside the country) will be decending on the Lincolshire circuit for a trackday with the Motorcycle Folly.

Cadwell Park was originally opened in 1934, but the current course, often nicknamed the "mini Nurburgring", because of it's rollercoaster reputation, took shape in 1962. It is one of Britain’s most spectacular circuits, around 2.17 miles of tarmac, with twisty woodland sections and long fast curves to create a very challenging and technically demanding track.

The circuit is situated in the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds, along the A153 about 5 miles south of the town of Louth. Cadwell’s Mountain is probably unique amongst the world’s racetracks, think the corkscrew at Laguna Seca in reverse, but not half as bad as it looks. Cadwell is a superb track, and very rewarding when you get the hang of it and has attained legendary status in the world of bike racing.

While I believe booking with Motorcycle Folly is now closed, if you have an RG500, why not head to Louth a day out and join us for a beer in one of the local pubs the night before on Sunday 27th. Stay tuned as I'll be posting details here of wear we plan to meet up. Alternatively why not drop down to the track on the Monday and say, "Hello!" - we are always willing to talk RG500's with anyone.

Gammas to attack Gingerman
                 ..................
Feb 01 2003

Well, it's set. The 2003 RG midwest rendezvous is going to happen August 23-24 at Gingerman raceway. We'll be crashing a "STT " (Sportbike Track Time) trackday, so all we have to do is show up and play.

Maybe we'll see this
STT info
STT are a group dedicated to providing safe, fun access to tracktime for street (and race) riders. Full info at their site:sportbiketracktime.com
Apparently, this is a big 3 day event for STT, Aug 22-24th. A sat-sun riding pass is $200. They also require a $25 membership. So, $225 gets you 2 full days of tracktime- That's a bargain. Lunch is provided both days, and there will be tire service, vendor tents, and a band Check out all the details of their trackday rules & requirements at sportbiketracktime.comGate fee is $5, so a guy could show up on friday at any time and avoid saturday morning frenzy.
